JON
Coach Jon started his journey in Muay Thai in the public parks in LA just over ten years ago. His neighbor trained and fought in Thailand as a younger man, and was then working with Poulo Tocha to begin teaching and eventually open a gym himself. When Jon moved back to NY, he continued training in the Muay Thai program at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where he was able to train and work alongside state, regional, and ONE championship fighters. Jon moved to Beacon in 2023 and found EGA an immediately welcoming and professional gym. He was honored to be invited to join their coaching team.
Coach Jon hopes to impart upon my students not only the techniques, but the beauty, style, and composure of Muay Thai that he loves. When not at the gym he is usually at home drawing comic books. Really.

Rocky
Coach Rocky started wrestling at 13 years old. After high school, he trained in Japanese Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Kyokushin Karate for years until discovering Morris Park Boxing Club in the Bronx where he was coached by Luis Resto and Bobby Miles. In 2015, a close friend of mine introduced Rocky to Mike and a few days later he ended up at EGA. Rocky has been coaching for 11 years now. On any given day you can find him and Mike nerding out over Karate, Boxing, and Martial Arts History. Coach Rocky credits Martial Arts for providing a pathway into reading, preparing him for life’s hardships, and giving him the confidence to tackle all challenges. He hopes to do the same for his students through teaching the deep history of Martial Arts and the Art of Boxing.

Jacqui is thankful to learn something new from her students every day and is genuinely inspired by the amazing people at the gym.
